Gaetano Gialanella, D.D.S.

Dr. Gialanella is extremely dedicated to the overall health and well being of his patients. He believes each patient’s individual needs should be carefully assessed and adequate time given to discuss their dental conditions and options. He is always available to his patients and prides himself on offering them the highest level of dentistry. It is his mission to create a strong dentist-patient relationship and then execute modern, comprehensive dentistry.

Dr. Gialanella completed his undergraduate degree in Biology at Siena College. He attended NYU College of Dentistry where he received his D.D.S. degree. He then went on to complete a General Practice Residency at Nassau University Medical Center in East Meadow, New York. Upon completing the residency program he was chosen to serve as chief resident for an additional year. During these two years, Dr. Gialanella gained valuable experience in the areas of full mouth rehabilitation, implant restoration, endodontics, oral surgery, periodontal surgery, TMJ therapy, orthodontics, and pediatric dentistry.

Following the post-graduate training program, Dr. Gialanella returned to the Albany area and began practicing at his current location. Since entering private practice, he has completed over 1500 hours of continuing education. This coursework includes certification as an Invisalign provider in 2004. In 2004, he also completed a continuum at the Pankey Institute, an advanced continuing dental education center.

In July of 2010, Dr. Gialanella completed a four year continuing education course of study through the Orognathic Bioesthetic Institute. The Orognathic Bioesthetic Institute(OBI) is a not-for-profit institute that provides courses for general dentists and dental specialists based on the research and philosophies of Dr. Robert Lee. After attending numerous lectures and presenting several cases completed in our office Dr. Gialanella presented his final case, a full mouth rehabilitation that he performed for a patient of his practice. This lecture marked the end of the course of study through OBI and placed Dr. Gialanella in an elite group of less than four hundred dentists worldwide that have completed this training.

Dr. Gialanella is also a member of Capital District Continuum for Advanced Dental Education, a local study group affiliated with the Seattle Study Group. He has been a member of this group for the past thirteen years. This unique study group allows general dentists and specialists to meet and review their current cases. This group also recruits some of the top speakers in the dental field for its lectures. His commitment to continuing education has allowed Dr. Gialanella to stay on the cutting edge of dentistry offering his patients the highest level of care.

In addition to attending dozens of lectures annually Dr. Gialanella has given numerous lectures himself. The groups he has lectured to include the Third and Fourth District Dental Societies, The Troy Study Group, Orognathic Bioesthetic Institute and The Seattle Study Club. He has lectured multiple times to the Internal Medicine Residents at Albany Medical Center and Emergency Medicine Residents at St. Peter’s Hospital.

Dr. Gialanella maintains membership in the American Dental Association, New York State Dental Association, the Third District Dental Society, the Academy of General Dentistry, the Academy of Bioesthetic Dentistry and the Pine Hills neighborhood association.

In an effort to give back to the community in which he lives Dr. Gialanella serves as the team dentist for both the Siena College. He also supports many local charities, his favorite being the Thomas Patrick Morrison Foundation.

Dr. Gialanella and his wife Nichole live in Loudonville with their three children, 13 year-old Jack and 10 year-old twins, Elisabeth and Theodore. In his time away from the office he enjoys coaching and watching their baseball, soccer, lacrosse and basketball teams.

Theodore Gialanella, D.D.S.

Dr. Gialanella completed his undergraduate degree in Biology at The College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, Massachusetts. While attending Holy Cross he was a four year varsity letter winner on the football team. After graduating from Holy Cross he attended New York University College of Dentistry where he received his DDS degree.

Upon his graduation from NYU, Dr. Gialanella completed a general practice residency program at Nassau University Medical Center in East Meadow, New York. Now, Dr. Gialanella practices with his brother in Albany, NY. They have a general dental practice with a focus on treating patients with TMJ pain and doing full mouth rehabilitations. They have recently integrated 4 practices of retiring dentists into their own practice.

Dr. Gialanella has completed Level II of Orognathic Bioesthetic International continuing education course of study. He has also trained at the prestigious Schuster Center for Professional Development. In 2016, Dr. Gialanella was recognized as one of the 40 top dentists in the nation under 40 years old by Incisal Edge Magazine.

Dr. Gialanella served as the youngest ever President of the Third District Dental Society. He is also a member of the American Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry, and New York State Dental Association. He frequently presents cases for the Capital District Continuum for Advanced Dental Education, a local study group affiliated with the Seattle Study Club.  Recently, he and his brother were named co-directors for this study club.

Dr. Gialanella has lectured both locally and regionally for the Sjögrens Syndrome Foundation and the Scleroderma Foundation. He is a certified speaker for Straumann Dental Implants.

Dr. Gialanella currently resides in East Greenbush, NY with his wife Holly, his daughter Grace and his son Christopher. In his time away from the office, he enjoys coaching his children’s peewee lacrosse team.
